Roswell Community Masjid, Inc. (“RCM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates roswellmasjid.org and the RCM member portal. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are a nonprofit religious organization; we do not sell personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly when you:
- Make a donation (name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and donation amount; payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers)
- Create an account in the RCM portal
- Register for a class, program, or event
- Sign up to volunteer
- Subscribe to our email or text message updates
- Contact us through a form on our website
We also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit our website, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view. This is used to keep the site working and secure.
How We Use Your Information
- To process donations and issue receipts and year-end giving statements
- To send announcements, prayer time and schedule changes, and event reminders
- To coordinate volunteers and programs
- To share news about RCM’s work and fundraising campaigns, where you have asked to receive it
- To respond to your questions and requests
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from RCM, we collect your mobile phone number and a record of your consent.
No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages you asked for. Our SMS provider and any service provider that helps us send messages on our behalf may process your number solely to deliver those messages, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers. Payment processors, email and text message delivery providers, and the hosting and database services that run our website and portal. These providers may use your information only to perform services for RCM.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the safety of our community.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share donor lists with other organizations.
Donor Privacy
Donation records are kept confidential and are accessible only to the RCM staff and board members who need them for financial administration and reporting. You may request that your gift be acknowledged anonymously in any public listing.
Data Retention and Security
We keep donation and financial records for as long as required by tax and nonprofit reporting rules, and other information for as long as needed for the purposes described above. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices
- Email: unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message.
- Access, correction, or deletion: contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time. Note that we may need to retain certain donation records to meet legal obligations.
Children
Our website and portal are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a parent or guardian registers a child for a youth program, we collect only the information needed to run that program safely.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version.
